Sticky Orange & Apple Self-Saucing Pudding

A perfect winter dessert using the fruit from the box.

Pudding

  • 2 apples, diced
  • Zest of 1 orange
  • 1 cup self-raising flour
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup milk
  • 50g melted butter

Sauce

  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • Juice of 2 oranges
  • 1½ cups boiling water

  1. Place apples in a greased baking dish.
  2. Mix pudding ingredients and spread over apples.
  3. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly over top.
  4. Combine orange juice and boiling water.
  5. Carefully pour over the back of a spoon onto the batter.
  6. Bake at 180°C for 35–40 minutes.
  7. Serve warm with cream, yogurt, or ice cream.
