Kids Cook – Easy Banana Oat Cookies

These are ridiculously simple and a great way to use those ripe bananas.

Serves: 6 | Cooking Time:

  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 1½ cups rolled oats
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla, optional
  • 2 tbsp sultanas OR choc chips, optional

  1. Heat oven to 180°C and line a baking tray.
  2. Get the kids to mash the bananas really well with a fork.
  3. Stir in the oats and cinnamon.
  4. Add vanilla and sultanas or choc chips if using.
  5. Leave the mixture for about 5 minutes so the oats absorb some moisture.
  6. Spoon small mounds onto the tray and flatten slightly — they won't spread like regular biscuits.
  7. Bake for approximately 12–15 minutes, until lightly golden.
  8. Cool on the tray for a few minutes before transferring to a rack.

These are naturally sweet from the banana, so there's no added sugar needed.
