Homemade Beef & Veggie Burgers with Potato Wedges

  • 500g beef mince
  • 300g potatoes, cut into wedges
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • ½ brown onion, finely diced
  • Lettuce leaves
  • 2 tomatoes, sliced
  • ½ Lebanese cucumber, sliced

Pantry ingredients

  • 4 burger buns
  • 1 egg
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Olive oil
  • Salt & pepper
  • Tomato sauce or burger sauce

  1. Preheat oven to 200°C fan-forced (220°C conventional).
  2. Toss potato wedges with olive oil, paprika, salt and pepper. Bake for 40 minutes, turning halfway.
  3. Mix beef mince, grated carrot, onion, egg, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, salt and pepper.
  4. Shape into four burger patties.
  5. Cook patties in a frying pan or BBQ over medium-high heat for 5–6 minutes per side until cooked through.
  6. Lightly toast burger buns.
  7. Assemble burgers with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and your favourite sauce.
  8. Serve with crispy potato wedges.
