Jason and I would like to say a big THANK YOU to all our customers this year, and those that have been with us for many years (some even for the 12 years we have been in business!!). I am not sure our customers realise how deeply grateful we are that you shop with us and continue to support our small family business. We have been through a lot over the last 12 years but feel that at now we are just starting to get in a good place and we could never have done that without the loyalty and support you have all given us.
We often say that we know all our customers and some are great friends now. We feel it deeply when we lose a customer, even if they have only shopped with us a few times, because as a small business every customer is vitally important - not like the big guys who wouldn't even know your name or care if you did or didn't return.
We would also like to thank publicly our amazing team - it's changed a bit this year with the increase in primary production:
PACKING TEAM Jason P - our former cold-room manager, now moved to warmer climates in Port Douglas Nathan K - our amazing new cold-room manager, super chef who comes to us with a mountain of food experience and training Marc W - a dedicated and super fast packer that always gets the job done Michelle D - who started with us way back in 2010 then left after 5 years but came back in 2020 only to leave again this year - we appreciate her hard work and great service over the years Lee - only new to the team but a great addition and cheery soul to have in the group Lleyton - again only new but has fitted in and does a great job every week. Ashlyn - our daughter who usually works every school holiday and has around 4 years experience packing now These guys pack a lot of boxes a week - often up to 300!!!!Cccasionally we might make a mistake or get it wrong but on average these guys work on a 99% accuracy rate and we think they do an amazing job!!!
DELIVERY TEAM Sig - had been with us for around 11 years and retired this year. We do miss her and we thank her for her wonderful years of service Sharon - as some would know, my aunt, who came to help out at OrganicBox 12 years ago and has stayed since. Sharon has now also officially retired and we thank her for her years of service to OrganicBox too Polly - super delivery driver, nothing is ever too hard for Polly and he does an amazing job Craig - with us around a year now, Craig does stock pickups and deliveries on Tuesday Kevin - our newest member who has come in to replace Sig, and now Sharon on the Tuesday run but is also doing Wednesday and Thursday deliveries too
PADDOCK TEAM (GUMERACHA) Julie - does the most amazing job keeping the paddock ticking along, supervising staff, harvest schedules, planting and seeding - all completely under control. We would be lost without her! Nikki - who came to us to help out casually with garlic weeding a few years ago and is now part of the paddock team, she does a great job Kylie - one of our newest team members for the paddock, hard working and very passionate about her job Sybill - another new addition, Sybill has years of experience on farms and with food production Marc - when not packing boxes, Marc is our all round filleriner for the paddock - preppng beds, fixing irrigation, digging garlic, spreading mulch, weeding, fencing, planting and fixing poly tunnels - the list is long!!!!
ORCHARD TEAM (CADELL) Chris E - Chris and his family landed in Cadell this year on their off grid bus to help out with pruning - but with all that is happening we are happy to say that they are going to stay and make Cadell home base and look after the orchard ongoing. A win/win for all of us. Danny M - local ex cop who has retired but has been an enormous support to us as we revive the orchard back to its former glory. Helping with pruning, picking and providing advise from his years of experience growing stone fruit Dakota M - Danny's son who comes to pick apricots after Uni finishes for the year - hard working and loyal we are thankful for the help Mitch - our son who is doing a full harvest year in the orchard - living in a caravan they are enjoying the freedom and being part of the harvest, and packing team Kyah - Mitch's girlfriend who has also gone 'off grid' and living in the caravan, doing an amazing job picking and in the packing shed.
MARKETING/GRAPHIC DESIGN AND PROMOTIONS Massive thanks to Sarah fromEcco Marketingwho is the lady behind the newsletters for most of the year. Sarah also designs our logos, created our Earthly Abundance logo and website and assists with promotions and planning. She does an amazing job, having to deal with us and our crazy hours, and often being hard to track down. We would also be lost without her calm, constant and dedicated service.
Finally huge thanks to my partner in life and business, who works his heart out everyday juggling so many things but most of all his commitment, hard work, passion and drive to make this all work......
Most importantly, thank you all for your support over the year, and we look forward to sharing what is hopefully an abundant 2022.
